Ideas for new cage

Ok so this summer I'm going to build Trevor a new cage.

It's going to be roughly 2ft deep x 3ft wide x 5ft high

I currently have an arcadia t5 canopy that's 60cm so I was thinking on getting another one and rather than have it left to right I was going to get another one and have them on either side but front to back with the basking light in the middle.

I was also going to possibly have 2 t5 natural sun lights running from top to bottom behind the door frame to shine back in on the cage

Here in the uk we have a product you use for creating wet rooms which has a tap you put on first to seal any corner. Then you paint a rubber bassed paint over the top of it all.

I'm going to make the whole thing from birch ply with a drainage compartment in the bottom.

Because the uk is so dry during the winter the whole thing I'll be solid other than the top and from door (mesh but slightly bigger than the reptibreeze mesh)

Just wanted a few point possible on the lighting

I wouldn't put any lights running horizontally. I'm not sure that is what you were actually going to do, but the cham needs to be able to shade itself from the light to help regulate how much uv and overall light that he gets. Running the lights horizontally will drastically cut down any chance of being able to take cover. One t5 should be enough especially if you have a reflector. I have to uvb bulbs, but only one of them is new. The other is just used for supportive lighting. Just a thought

They were just going to be normal 6500k lights no uv so the whole cage is lit but I guess that's wrong maybe

I personally wouldn't. I feel like they need to be able to find comfortable shade. I'm not sure if they know what lights have uv and what don't but if they cannot tell then he will not know where to hide from the uv exposure as they have to regulate that as well as their body temp.

Good point made mate I just thought that the extra lighting would make for better living. My cage at the mo is kind of dark at the bottom as the light doesn't reach down past the plants

Ok so i have has some more thoughts for trevors new cage

i currently have 1 arcadia canopy with 12% but i was thinking of having 2 with 6% running from front to back on either side of the cage top.

i was also looking at this to go in the middle with 4 plant lights http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LightWave...Bottle_Warmers_Coolers_LE&hash=item3f17bee212

or...

2 of these with one 6% and 1 plant light on either side and the basking spot in the middle
