I have a male veiled chameleon named Charlie. He should be around 4-5months. I have a few questions on the information I was givin when I first got him and still use today.

How long should a veiled actually be misted??
-Mine is misted up to four minutes twice a day on the week days and three times a day on the weekends.

How many crickets should a 4-5month be fed in a whole day?
-I feed mine a max of 10 crickets a day and wonder if thats not enough

Thanks:)

I think you are misting plenty. I mist mine twice daily, but in Indiana in the winter with the heat going I am sure you are doing it right.

As for crickets, it depends on how big the crickets are. 4-5 month old Veileds are HUNGRY! :) SO if he is gobbling up 10 really fast you might want to go up a little.

The crickets are what they call "small" when you go into buy them. Lately I have been adding one more cause he eats all I give him plus his greens. So how many should I feed?

Small meaning 1/4" I am sure-which are probably getting too small for him-he could prob easily eat 1/2" to 3/4". I would go easily up tp 15-20 with that size.

I use to feed around 15-20 until I was told on here that it was too many. I think I will go with 15 and normally I pick out the biggest crickets which are getting close to big ones for Charlie. I think I may just buy some big ones

When someone tells you too many it is because they are not thinking about size-small crickets-are well small crickets. If he can eat 3/4" crickets I would probably be thinking 8-but I am not sure how big your cham is. Get whatever will fit the space between his eyes.

There was one time an adult cricket in the small ones I bought and I fed it to him. I normally feed him phoenix worms and crickets to help but im out of worms but I am getting some in the next few days!:D

I haven't measured him lately. He doesn't like being handled but today I thought I would take him out and handle him for a few minutes to measure. When I do, I will post the length

At 4-5 months Pan was eating what pet stores call 'large' crickets. He would eat about 7 every day or the equivalent to 7 crickets anyways. The large ones are 3/4-1 inch. He was about 5 inches snout to vent at almost 5 month I think. There is a reason I say 10 appropriately sized crickets. Not ten small crickets. :)

ooo I guess I will buy some large ones and see how he handles them

I would say go ahead and see if he can handle the bigger ones. Buy a dozen or so just to see how he does. It really depends on the size of your litte one. As far as misting your hitting him more then enough so should be fine with that. I get mine at most 3 times a day and then a dripper I have going to be on the safe side.
