I think my pygmy is gravid....

Hello everyone, well today i woke up and did my daily routine for the chams but as i was going to mist the pygmies i see the male on top of the female moving his butt and legs on her. I think they were breeding but they saw me quickly. I recently (4 days ago) covered their cage as i thought my female was already gravid but i guess not. So i left the room and then came back in and they were off each other. I was sad lol......but then i was about to leave for school and said let me go see avian quickly before i go to school, and the male is on top of the female AGAIN. im hoping for the best and maybe i will have babies soon.

They breed like rabbits. He will mate a few times, but it should be over soon enough. Hope you have success with them!

So you think its possible they were mating? I wasnt sure

I can't imagine that they weren't.
No need to do anything special with these guys (ie: cover the cage, worry about them seeing you, etc.) just let them do their thing.

How long does it take for them to lay after mating?

How long does it take for eggs to hatch?

About a month.

About 60-75 days.
