Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled chameleon, female, baby. I've has her for 3 days.
Handling - every day- atleast 3 times a day to give her eye ointment
Feeding - gut loaded crickets and mini meal worms but she wont touch anything.
Supplements - retptical with D3 and herptivite but she wont eat anything.
Watering - I have a constant water drip and I aslo spray her dowm with warm water 3-4 times a day? She IS drinking
Fecal Description - She has a yellow and brown-ish turd that she pooed on the side of the tank but thats been the only one.
History - I got her fromt the pet store and she was 50% off because she was sick. They took her to the vet for her eye and the vet said that it looked like she had a hard shed and that shed was stuck over/in her eye and to put ointment on it 3x a day and increase her humididty to 80% until the shed is soft enough to peel off with tweasers (gently) but after that she should be just fine.
Cage Info:
Cage Type - I have a glass and screen cage that is 24x 24 or something like that. it has a screen fron and a screen top but hte rest is glass.
Lighting - from 9 til 9pm i have a blue 60w basking bulb and a zilla tropical coiled 5.0 uvb bulb.
Temperature - The cage floor is around 70 degrees and the cage top is close to 75 to 80 degrees. at night the temp is around 65. I have a thermometer and a humidity gauge in there with her.
Humidity - the humididty is close to 80% but sometimes drops to around 65%. I mist her constantly and have a drip system constsntly going.
Plants - only fake
Placement - in the sunroom right off the livingroom in front of a double window. the height is about chest high.
Location - I live in Missouri.
Current Problem - The problem is that she was seen by the vet January 1st 2013 and it is now feb 25th 2013 and there is no improvement after putting the ointment on 3 times a day with increased humidity levels. I thought it was looking better but now it looks like her eye is completelt exposed with only the top half of an eyelid and it looks pretty flat. She cant blink at all but sometimes tried to move it but it just seems fixed in one spot. She rubs it ocassionally. She wont eat anything and she is so tiny. Im afraid. I've only had her a few days but she has mine and my children's heart. Should I try taking her to the vet again? I cant tell what is shed and what is her mangled looking eyelid. The thing that gets me is that her eye looks flat, not like the other one that is round and perfeclty fine. I dont want to return her to the store but I dont want her to die in my care either.
