I think I have a PROBLEM! #3 on his way

I have to give a HUGE thanks to ferretinmyshoes for all of her help with Igor. I took him in to see her yesterday and have his puss pockets drained and flushed. Let's just say that he was NOT a happy boy and he let her know it. Unfortunately, her fingers weren't always out of the bite zone. He got her a couple of times and refused to let go for about 30 seconds once. He is such a trooper!

I would have no hope of doing this without Dayna's help. So...

THANK YOU DAYNA (ferretinmyshoes)

Now I just hope that the treatment she suggested for his prolapse works. If it is not back in when Dayna gets back from vacation, it will have to be amputated.

I just ordered an XL Reptibreeze for Igor. I think he will LOVE his new cage. I have decided that he absolutely HATES his little cage. I had to take him out yesterday to treat his prolapse and give him a shot. He did not want to come out, as usual, but only hissed a little bit and then came out without much fuss. I was able to do what I needed to and then put him on his free range where he stayed for almost 2 hours.

When it was time to go back to his cage he was all sweetheart. He did not puff or hiss, just climbed on my hand like a good cham. However, that all changed when I opened the door to his cage and started putting him in it. He instantly puffed up and started hissing at me while running away from his cage. He wanted ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with it. I feel bad, but the cage I had planned on putting him in just won't cut it, so he will have to wait another week or so.

We had a breakthrough tonight!! Igor decided that he wanted to climb on me without being forced. He is still very grumpy about coming out of his cage, but once he is out he is a great guy. I treated his prolapse tonight (which doesn't seem to be improving) and then put him on his free range. he immediately climbed to the edge of the tree and just watched me. I decided to put my hand hear him to see what he did. He looked at me for a moment, and climbed right onto my hand. This is the first time he has not run from me the moment I come close.

Surprisingly, he is quickly becoming my favorite cham. He really is a good boy!

That's awesome, even after everything he's going thru, that he's trusting you. Keep up the love. He's sees it.

Things are going well for Igor. His new cage should be here any day. Then he can get out of his shack and into his mansion. He is going to LOVE it. Unfortunately it seems that his prolapse will probably have to be amputated. ferretinmyshoes gets back from her vacation in a few days and there has been no improvement in the prolapse. You can see it in the pictures below. I have been treating it daily with an ointment that she gave me and gently trying to coax it to go back in, but to no avail.

Now, a few pics taken this afternoon:
