I have a male veild chameleon that I got from julirs.

He only wants to eat crickets ive offered dubia but he ignores them. I really hate geting crickets there a pain all around. I want to feed him silkies but they seem very hard to manage and grow to quickly so my question is do you guys have any suggestion on how to get him interested in dubia or of a good simple feeder that would be more interesting to him?

thanks

How long do you wait before feeding your cham. In other word do you feed him daily or every other?

also how big is you cham and how big are the dubai...?

im assuming its a baby since julirs has babies for sell >.< i'm sure when he gets older he will be more interested in other feeders

I know when I introduce a new feeder to my veileds they are very wary of it at first. A dubia is probably bigger then the food they are used to. Try supers. They are easy to keep. However, you have to also feed them crickets. It is hard to gutload supers because their diet is limited.

Keep trying small dubias and they will try to eat them eventually. Perhaps don't feed them for a day and then introduce them in a cup.

I feed him daily. I offer dubia the size of the crix hes been eating. I usuallly put some crix in his cup at night so he will wake up to a meal but i didnt last night but there were quite a few dubia in his cup and looks like he ate about 8 or 9 of them because they are missing and he looks to have a plump belly.

Thanks anywayss:D ill try supers though

if this is a baby cham, sometimes it takes time before they experiment with food that they aren't used too, I have a baby panther that on certain days will only eat crickets, and others where he wont touch crickets, but he'll scarf down fruit fly till hes gonna pop.
