Only if the nail bed is healthy, most of the time they don’t. My Cham is missing some and I’m surprised one is growing back. But don’t get your hopes up.
MBD is a strong possibility, because a fracture to the spine could cause this symptom but there are other possibilities. As Kinyongia pointed out severe constipation can cause similar symptoms. If veterinary care is available the sooner the better. The longer he waits the harder it will be to reverse.
