thanks for trying to help, but we rushed her over to the vet this morning and it was a built up of sheddings on her eyes, the vet said she is in great health but needs to be misted more often to help prevent this from happening again. We are new at this and werent expecting to take her on, but after she was brought here, we have grown so fond of her and will do anything to help her have a good healthy life.
I would appreciate any knowledge you have about her. What I can tell you now is that she is approximately 5-6 months old and a Nosy Be chameleon. Im assuming about that age, when my brother gave her to me she was a tiny baby about less than the size of your pointer finger. Now she (Lizzy) fits into the palm of your hand. The vet said she weighs 21 grams and her tail is slightly thinner than what should be the norm, but with her not eating as much as she normally does the past few days, that would be expected. I dont know the brand names of the things in her cage but we have a 20 gallon glass tank with a open extension topper, she has a waterfall, and all the branches and greenery are from the reptile house. We use bark chips in the bottom of the tank and I use filtered purified water for her waterfall. We clean her tank every Friday or Saturday with new bark and sanitize her waterfall and branches. She eats crickets, we use gut load and the calcium shake for the crickets recommended by the reptile house and she just started mealworms about 2 weeks ago. We do see her every once in awhile in the waterfall drinking and she does have (which is so gross) very large droppings all through out the cage. We buy 3 dozen crickets at a time and normally she will eat about 8-12 a day, but now that we have introduced her to the mealworms she will sit inbetween both dishes and grab a worm then look over a grab a cricket. So now, I would say we give her about 4 or 5 mealworms and about 6 crickets and by the end of her feast there may be 1 cricket roaming through the cage.
