They can start producing eggs once they are able to be bred. Now saying that, just because the female can breed, I would suggest not unless 1 year or more. But, you can try to make it where it is very unlikely for her to actually produce the eggs, for example food intake, regulate temps. Here is a link that you can read more about;
Its not true that if they are not mated they die from eggbinding. If your husbandry is good and your female is healthy and not overfed she should be able to lay the eggs without problems.
