Can Pygmy chameleons live in a home made wood framed mesh enclosure? I know that pygmys are small and love being close to the ground but I would really like to create a nice home for them without having to use a presized glass terrarium.

I have R. spectrums and R. brevicaudatus in fully planted enclosures I have built.

3 sides wood with screen front and top.
They do fine in these with a couple of mistings a day.

What wood did you use for the sides and how did you treat it? What did you do for drainage of the base?

They're pretty much all plywood and 1x2's and 2x2's.
I painted all raw wood with latex paint and a couple of coats of water based polyurethane.
The bottoms are lined with plastic sheeting (painter's drop cloths) and from the bottom up, a layer of hydroton, a layer of activated charcoal and organic potting soil.
