Hello everyone, just'd like to tell you my eggs started to hatch on friday night and since I have 14 babies, but the hatching is not finished :D they look ok, both male and females. I did set up their viv. with some small vines and fake plants and papeer on bottom, with 5.0 uv and 40 w ceramic bulb. can someone tell me what temperature they exactly need on basking area and waht on the other parts? and also I misted them 2x but I haven't seen them to drink. I bought some micro crickets but they haven't started to eat yet? hope they will start is today bec. I read it can take up to 2 days. any advice can be very helpful. many thanks.:)

congrats!

I wouldn't use a ceramic heater for them... they should have a normal household bulb for heat. They will be drawn to the light more than the heat.

It might be a day or two before some eat. Some of the might have the sack on their belly still, this will give them food and nutrients till it falls off.

As for heat... I am not 100% on the temp but I am sure 80-85 basking spot is warm enough but not too hot that they can burn. Just don't put the lamp right on the viv where they can climb under the lamp and burn their toes.

I use only a linear uvb bulb (reptiglo 5, I can't get reptisun) on my babies, no basking bulb. The linear bulb produces enough heat for them to stay warm enough. I raise all my babies in 10 gal. fish tanks until they are large enough to be moved to small screen enclosures and have had many successful hatchings this way.

I already put them in 30x30x45 cm exo terra, where I need the ceramic heater bec. the temp. without is not reach even 80 on basking spot, but they like to be under the light not the heat and they defenetely can't burn themselves with it. I saw them drinking but still no eating, hope is will change. do you know what night time temp. do they required? thanks
