I give up, how do I keep from drowning this stupid schleffera?

Ever since I got my mist king, this schleffera has been getting way overwatered. I tried repotting it in a mix of sand and coconut husk that I saw in another thread but that didn't help much. Also tried working some saran wrap over the pit but I couldn't really position it to be effective. Any other ideas?

Not sure if you have done this already or not. Take the little tray off the bottom of the pot and elevate it a half inch or so. I had issues with overwatering myself, this took care of it for me.
