I don't want this cutie to die!

thats a lil baby veiled chameleon , iv breed and hatched babies befor so i know from experience what they look like at that age and his or her casque is just starting , if you can get a side picture of your cham we will be able to tell you more , but im going with veiled chameleon on this one

i know nothing about syria, im assuming its in africa or south america, but over there there should be some great bugs. ill do some syria research later maybe. try worms, flies, ants (maybe)

There should be wild locusts of some kind there (grasshoppers or crickets) they can live in many different climates, although it may be a little too cold out for them right now too. Do you have snow there?

I agree with Kinyonga that s/he may be trying to brumate due to your seasonal temps there. What is the lowest temp that is normal in winter for Syria? How long does winter last there? Our winter ends in April/May and is extremely cold (right now its -9c with 25 cm of snow:eek:) so we don't have any wild chameleons here:(

it moves every now and then, but it didn't eat or drink till now I think. I'm spraying the aquarium occasionally, every other day or so.
Today it moved more than usual so I went on a bug hunting mission and I found some seemingly delicious bugs! I grounded a vitamin pill and dusted them with it.
Then I put them in a plastic container and put it under the branch it likes. Hopefully it will get tempted by their movement.

Hello,

I think you should let it go and do it's own thing. Just because it was found doesn't mean there was anything wrong with it to begin with. Don't Veileds have a range into Syria? Being native to that environment you shouldn't have picked it up to begin with, and letting it go would be a heck of a lot better than keeping him without proper knowledge (and potentially killing it in the course).

Additionally, here is an email address of someone who I found in another forum that mentioned wanting to raise a Veiled in Saudi Arabia (and has a vacation home in Syria). You may want to email this person. ([email protected])

Goodluck!
Nate
