I have a Panther Chameleon and he has been great he is about 8 months old he just developed this dark area around his mouth I don't know what it is but it's going away but he isn't eating should I take him to a Vet?
I don't know what's wrong

That my friend is a burn, and a VERY bad one.
You need a vet ASAP!
You should fill out this:
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.
Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
Location - Where are you geographically located?
Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.

Thank you his burn is going away but I still taking him to the Vets and i have had my chameleon since he was 2 months old so I have had him for 5 months I got him from Screamleons and I got there package setup but he hasn't had any problems till now I have been feeding a variety of things crickets,silkworms, roaches and once a great while I will give him a butterworm but also I don't know nighttime but during the day I have a range from 90 to 70 range
For my UVB I use Reptisun 5.0
And a dome light I use a daylight blue bulb 60 watt

This what the burn looks like now so it's better but it could have injured his mouth so I am still taking him to the Vet cause he hasn't eaten for 4 or 5 days

Like others said he will need vet attention ASAP....
But Im not sure it is a burn...
Black areas are surrounding the lower right area of the jaw, and then again under the eye. Seems like a very odd place for a burn?
Possible infection maybe, does the inside of his mouth on that side look normal?

I don't know I have tries to see but he just won't let me so I will let the Vet take care of him and I could be wrong on how old he is but it is around that area and he is that bad that he is small?

You should really fill out the form above because he should be larger.. he's kinda small for 5 months.. and I think it would be handy all around.

Whether you fill in the form or not, can I ask a question? Was there anything really COLD so close to the cage he might have leaned against it? Like, did you leave a glass of iced tea touching the screen? This is just me mulling things, not any suggestion that I know what I'm doing.
It's not necessarily a problem if he's small. But there could be problems that lead to him being small. That's really true with any animal. Some humans are just little and only get to be 5 feet tall. Others should be 5 foot 8 but due to health issues never grow past 5 feet.
