I have to thank Camimom for the wonderful boy she gave me. He's done rather well since I've had him. :D

His first shower! And him being a butthead!

He wasn't angry at my phone, hes been grumpy in his teen angst. Not liking my hand at all, thought I would record it for once.

Much calmer once he got his shower. Let me pick him up without problem.

How old is yours? Reptar is just under a year old, ive been told by camimom that it's just his "teen" anger coming out. I'm hoping he grows out of it soon, would really like to be able to go in there without fearing for my fingers. He lunges so fast! I'm lucky he hasn't actually made contact yet.

He is about 18 months old. As a baby, he would eat from our hands and did not seem to be mean. However, once we put him in his large cage he turned for the worst. Although he doesnt lunge violently at me like yours does, he still hisses and tries to bite me. The last time I had him out for cage cleaning, his claws clamped on hands so hard that it punctured my skin. As a result I had a nasty infection for a day or two. Despite my efforts he has not calmed down at all. This is one of the reasons I purchased a baby Nosy Be from Kammers as I read their tempermant is more managable (with in reason of course).

Most veileds go through the teen phase, and tend to settle down as they get older.

Some just don't ever.

Hand feeding is a great way to get them to realize you are the enemy and you are not going to eat them.

But, as with any chameleon, they aren't lovey dovey creatures.

Take your time, go slow, and hopefully over time they see you as friend, not predator.

(directed to all, not just you OP) :)
