LOL - I am going to Las Vegas for about a week with my vet friend, my one sister, and meeting my other sis from Ca. there - its is going to be GREAT :D, my sis already told me she is not sleeping in a room full of lizards I may catch at the pool -and my husband told me " Do not come home with a bunch of lizards" lol - I think they may know me by now- lol but, I would not keep any I catch - I do not believe in keeping the little pool lizards, but , besides the ever common " casino lounge lizard " :p I was wondering what kind of lizards are out there ? we are going into the canyons, and I would like to see some wild life- again, not the Vegas strip kind of wild life ~ lol

And you could also visit some pictographs/petroglyphs. There are some great ones outside the city. If you need an exotic herp fix there's a decent exotic shop in LV that advertises on kingsnake a lot. I went there once years ago and saw some neat species. Shop was crowded and busy but most of the animals looked OK.

I stayed in Pahrump which is just over the mountain between las vegas and death valley, for a little while. You may find chuckwallas, desert iguanas, collard lizards, horned lizard and i think gilas are in this range. Be very careful though, you may encounter deadly snakes under rocks & mountain lions if you go hunting off the beaten path.

Edit: Right now its going to be pretty hot (like over 100*). Early mornings, late evenings are going to be the best times.
