How much hydration is necessary? Is twice a day misting sufficient? Or should a dripper be added? How much impact on humidity levels in an open cage will this really have? Thanks!

Ok so how long are you misting for each time? Do you use a fogger at night? And what are the urates looking like?

Misting with hand pump mister for about 15 seconds. No fogger. Mistking on the way in about a week.
So then yes you will want a dripper to run during the day for at least a few hours.

Once you get the mistking depending on urates you may not need to at all. Next time he goes take a pic of it and the white portion... It may be yellow or even orange. This will give us a better idea on his hydration.

It does not look like an abnormal urate. But I would ensure that you have a dripper running during the day. Once you have the mistking that may very well change. But you need to set up your cycles properly. I fog at night so my set up is totally different then yours. I find with fogging I do not need to worry so much as they get hydration at night when they are breathing in the cool moist air. Before I started fogging I always provided a dripper during the day though to go along with my mistking.
