Is this a bad idea If I use my 16x16x30 cage , zoo med T5 HO hood and 50 watt heat lamp for a 6 month old male panther. I plan on getting a bigger cage in 3 weeks at the Pomona reptile show. I also will be using a mist king system. Should I run T8 bulb with that size cage ?

2'x2'x4' tall is actually the recommended minimum. The recommended size is 4'x2'x4' tall or bigger. Go as big as you can! Would you rather be in a smaller space for your whole life?
I agree! I keep my boys each in 4x2x4’ enclosures and they use all the space. If I had the room, all of my chams would have as much space.

I'm finally going to start building my big bioactive cages soon! They'll be 60"x30"x60" tall without including my substrate bin depth (will differ between genders) and are for my current and future panthers!
