I normally feed my Jackson from a small cup in her cage. That way I know when she eats, how much she eats and I don't leave crickets in the cage overnight.
Today was the first day I've ever seen her hit the outside of the cup when attempting to catch a cricket (from below the cup). I've had her for about 4.5 months. It was very bizarre.
So I decided to do an experiment. I let one cricket loose in the cage.... well it didn't last long! She snapped it up as soon as I took my hands out of the cage (she doesn't really like me too much... we have a love-hate relationship... but its all good). She ate it so fast!!! I then put the remaining 5 crickets loose in the cage... here we are not 5 minutes later and she has eaten the other 5! I think she really enjoyed stalking them around the cage.
Has anyone else found that their chameleon prefers to eat free range crickets? How do you round up any non-eaten crickets in the evening?
