just looking for where i can get something that shuts on/off a device automatically depending on the humidity. the only thing i could find on LLLreptile was a very expensive combined thermo/humidi for 74.95

Use timer with multi setings for mist

Hi you can get timers now with many settings during the day i have one that i bought and you can set it to come on four times a daay! It only cost about 15.00 dollars its the ones with the tiny slides all the way around it and you can set it to come on and off for misting.

The OP is looking for something to come on when the humidity is low and then shut off when the humidity reaches a certain point...

I have only found some when I googled it and they look kind of sketchy lol...

i think the one he is talking about is a zoo med hygrotherm http://www.herpsupplies.com/product.cfm?groupid=18066&id=SZMHT1075 cool little display, power control, senders, and all, $75 doesnt seem like a bad price to me. depending on your set up you could use an eco zone for $380. redmoonbettas had a good suggestion, sure it may not come on and off according to the humidity, and have little humidity readout and all, but you could use a seconds timer. anyway you slice it, the more you mist the higher your humidity is going to be, just play with it until it keeps it where you want it ,if you use a mechanical timer you are likely limited to at least 15 min per cycle so that might be a little much. theres lots of different stuff you could use, it just depends on your existing setup and how much money you want to spend. you could also check out a greenhouse or growers supply, but anything there is likely to be at least $50 anyway jmo

well, this is not for my misting, I still do that by hand, this is just to stop the humidity from getting too low with my fogger.

as for the timer, I bought the zilla 24/7 digital timer power center for LLLReptile for 29.99, and the clock and cycles would just keep reseting on me for no reason. I e-mailed the company, they said it sounded like a short, sent me a brand new one, and guess what? same exact thing happened.

I dont know what i'm doing that's causing this, I havent heard anything about it being a bad product, maybe I'm using a faulty outlet? Maybe I'll try it again today or tomorrow, but I think i've already tried it in another outlet and/or had other things run fine in the same outlet.

I don't have this but have the Thermostats and they work great. Any questions to them have been answered quickly as well.
