I am sure this has been asked but could not find the answer thru a search. Here it is If I have a mistking will I also need a humidifier? Thanks:D:eek:

I would think no. I have misting systems but I have used ultra sonic cool mist humidifiers on some species even with a mist system. What type of chameleon are you keeping and what type of cage are you housing it in?

Well, it will depend on the climate in your area and the relative humidity level in the room your cages are in. If you find that the misting schedule doesn't maintain the cage humidity well enough (or you'd have to cycle the mister so often it will flood the cage) an ultrasonic humidifier can make a big difference. It won't create as much heavy flowing water, but can be cycled to fog the cage and raise the overall air humidity in between misting cycles.

Once you set up your MistKing system to provide the drinking water/spray you want, check how quickly and how low the cage humidity drops between cycles. If the cage gets too dry too fast and your chams seem to have a hard time staying hydrated, it could be that a humidifier can help. You'll just have to experiment. Also, at some times of year you may or may not need the additional humidity (during cold winters when house heating dries out the air, or during hot summers when you run an AC).
