Got hughs cage yesterday, put it together last night, and decorated it today. It still is a little plain and dull because of the cages size but I am proud of my work so far. I'm going to put a couple more plants toward the bottom of the cage and I think he'll be good. :D Thought I would share a few pictures.

cage looks a little big for such a little guy , are you going to be cup feeding him or free ranging feeders?

what was wrong with the other cage you had? from what i remember it was smaller and more appropriately size for a cham that small. nice new cage though! looks like a work in progress, be sure to post pics when you get more branches and vines in there!!

That cage is fine, just add more plants and vines.

Cup feeding never hurts.

His crickets I free rage (when he was in the smaller cage) but since have been feeding him worms, he is cup feeding. He already recognizes the white little cup, :p. He'll eye ball it as soon as I cup up to the cage. He also hand feeds so I am not worried about him not finding his food. :) His other cage was small and good for him but I hated coming up to the cage and him having to look up at me all the time. Here comes this GIANT peeking down on him. Also, I just couldn't wait to put his larger cage together and start decorating it. He seems to like it so far... He explored a little today but is now asleep in his little tree. I'm thinking of putting a couple of pothos on the little table and let the vines hang to the floor MAYBE get another small ficus and put that on the floor next to the table. The tree I have now was BIG and BUSHY but had to trim it down quite a bit to fit the smaller cage. I'll definately post a picture once it is totally complete. Man, MUCH more room to accomidate the light fixures and dripper. So far so good...:D Thank you!;)

Edit: Oh, and to ease your concerns about him hanging like that at the top, he was only there for a few minutes and then moved to the vines. ;)

NICE! Looks like Hugh has a mansion now, lol. Great start I am sure you will have it looking awesome. Keep the pics comin!!

Hi :) One thing I have noticed with the screen cages to watch out for,

If you put the basking lamp flat on the mesh like that, the mesh will conduct the heat, and get very hot, depending on what bulb you use.

I use a 60 watt bulb,And I have to have it raised off the mesh a little, otherwise I notice the screen will get very hot, Good cages though I have one of those even in the Uk.

I am only saying this out of experience.... you should fill in that cage with more plant matter so that if the little guy falls he doesn't get hurt or die.

Yeah, as I mentioned in my first post, i'm going to add 2 more plants toward the bottom of the cage. 2 small pothos on the table and let them drape to the bottom. :D It's a work in progress and am certainly going to add lots more fake foliage also and cover the back of the cage with it. :)

Awesome. I think more about the bottom of cages ever since I lost a melleri to a midnight fall. :(

It's a video... that is Jake... he is showing off to me.... and when I got closer he got upset and lost his footing and fell.... catching himself with his tail.

Oh my GOD! That is the funnies thing EVER! Hahahahahah! It looks like he is trying to instruct an exercise video. It's an exercise video gone wrong and he is super PISSED about it. (sigh) Good stuff.:p
