how will i know if this person will take care of the chameleon properly?

i will try to make this quick, So i was talking to this guy in one of my classes and we were talking about my chameleons.We started talking about my cham eggs and that he wanted to buy one when they hatch. Anyway he seems knowledgeable about lizards maybe not so much chameleons. So i started thinking "how will i know if this person will take care of the chameleon properly" not only this guy but for the entire clutch. i know i will not be able to find all my chameleons the best owner they can possibly have, but i will surely try! so i thought of this plan that will ensure i did every thing on my part to give my chams the best owner. 1) give the new owner a checklist of all the things needed before i send the cham. 2) give them good resources, especially the Chameleon Forums. These are the only ones i can really think of, if any could add to this it would be appreciated.

Additionally, you might want to make yourself available for follow up questions. Make sure he knows he can call you and that you want regular updates on your baby's progress.

I think your plan and the above comment are the best things you can do. Maybe print off a few pictures of a cham with MBD and show it to him, just to stress the importance of proper light/supplements/gutloading. I think you are on the right track.

Maybe ask for a picture of their set-up ahead of time so that you're sure they have everything ready to go.

I agree with everyone above. Show them everything that can happen to the chameleon if not cared for properly. I suppose you can teach the owners a few things before they take the babies with them.

I was extremely picky where my babies went. I would suggest selling them to private individuals and not big breeders. Also sell them to the chameleon forums members. If they are fairly new keepers ask them to post pictures of the setup and supplies so you and the other members here can make sure that everything is correct before you ship the baby. Attached below is the care sheet that I sent to everyone before they got a baby so they could prepare. Letting the little ones go was the very hardest part about having babies. I loved mine so much. I cried every time I had to put one in a box and ship it.

If It were me id make it super clear if for any reason wat so ever uve had enough bring em back no questions asked. Thatll knock out bordem, neglect, or them rehoming to just anyone.. i always prefer to re-rehome if necessary. Ur friend may not be to concerned whom they go to as long as there gone :/
