I tried that but only for 1 day. How long can a juvenile safely hunger strike for? What I would do is present everything else but crickets. and she will get the hint that that's her only option for now.

I talk about hunger strikes in the video I linked above ^^ Took my guy almost 3 weeks to stop eating superworms. A chameleon won't starve itself.
I have to do this. Dang.I talk about hunger strikes in the video I linked above ^^ Took my guy almost 3 weeks to stop eating superworms. A chameleon won't starve itself.
I'd say at least 2 weeks. If you keep offering crickets, that's all they're going to eat. Like I mention in the video, make sure the other bugs are moving and you are giving them privacy to eat.She is only 14 weeks this coming Friday. I've had her a month. She has a healthy appetite. Just only wants crickets.
How long is safe for a baby to go without eating?
Luna will eat any bug I offer her (that's who was eating the super) ? Neptune is on the other hand definitely has a soft spot for supers. In the video after all that, cham was eating superworm. LOL
Thank you. Thats a relief.I'd say at least 2 weeks. If you keep offering crickets, that's all they're going to eat. Like I mention in the video, make sure the other bugs are moving and you are giving them privacy to eat.
Also worth mentioning that crickets are a totally fine feeder. Supers on the other hand are not an okay daily feeder...
One thing about them is that they don't die as easily as crickets, and they can't get out of feeder. Crickets may last about a week for me and I feed them fruit and carrots and sweet potatoes and they die. They have space too.I talk about hunger strikes in the video I linked above ^^ Took my guy almost 3 weeks to stop eating superworms. A chameleon won't starve itself.
I got her to finally eat something new today!!Tough love!
I had my hormworms mailed to me. They arrived fineI got her to finally eat something new today!!
She put down 8 crickets this morning. Then a small horn worm and a silk worm.
I don't have access to horn or silkworms unless I drive to the city. Around here its just crickets and supers available readily. But it was nice to see her finally attempt a different food.
I have one more of each to give her this weekend.
Proud mama moment here. Lol
