How to tell you have healthy crickets?

So I was thinking the other day that I know how to tell more or less if my little man is looking good but I didn't really know how to evaluate his primary food source. (don't worry he's getting some variety it's just crickets are his fave) What do you look for in healthy crickets?

your crickets shouldn't really be walking if disturbed. They should always be lively. Feeding them well helps.

I'll add a question here if I may... Let's say you put a bit of grape pr apple in your cricket tub for them to eat. Two or three days goes by and you've forgotten to take it out. It's starting to grow furry mould. (Pancake mould is it? Would it be considered very bad practice to remove those crickets to a clean tub and continue to use them? I'm talking about lively seemingly healthy crickets. As it stands if I have that situation (which I'm sure we all do now and then) I'm not taking the risk.... What would you guys say to that?

well remove it for sure, if your very concerned maybe dont feed those today and re gutload them with fresh gutload, chances are they probibly didnt eat that part but if they did i doubt its to bad if they did.

as for the starting question unless there the black one (which i still havent dealt with) healthy young crix are light brown even the adults are when things arent right they start getting blacker then brown normal colors.
this can be due to one of 3 things not enough ventalation, not enough water or not enough food.
