okay well I am doing my reseach on Pygmy Chameleons. but i would like to get some for my very first chameleons. I want to get a trio. I am puzzled on how to set up the terrarium..? like the substrate and plants.. and how old should i get them? i want to get atleast a trio maybe 1 male and 3 females?

Use the SEARCH feature, type in Pygmy Enclosures, you can see how to set it up.
Put an ad in the classifieds for Pygmies, perhaps a member has some.

Here you go. Read these. One is a construction help, one is a caresheet. Most are wild caught, so if you get a captive bred, you will be able to have them for a while longer, as most wild caughts go down hilll after being in captivity for a while. That being said, they aren't "hard" to raise, they are just fragile, (they are only 3-4 inches) and the stress of coming into captivity and going to a new home.

You're kinda in the same boat as me. Im getting my first chameleon. Either a panther or a carpet cham.

Pygmies are harder to raise from what Ive read.

With 3-4 chams Im guessing youd need more than one cage.

And cham cages dont really use substrate I dont think. A lot of people have setups with their cage and a potted plant(such as ficus) in it with some vines and other things for the chams to climb on.

They are arboreal so they stay in the trees.

But Im a noob so dont take any of that to heart. Someone should clarify if Im wrong anywhere.

You're incorrect on everything you have said related to pygmies. I am no expert, but please do not give incorrect advice. New folks have a difficult enough time trying to find the info they need. Adding something you know nothing about is not helpful in the least bit. I'm not being mean, just trying to be constructive. No advice is better than incorrect advise.

Follow the links that have already been provided. There is a lot of pygmy info on these forums if you do some searching. Unlike many other chameleons, you can raise them in a glass enclosure with substrate and some plants put in. They don't require high temperatures. A trio is great to start with (1 male, 2 females). Do some reading, then ask away! :)

thank you all :) you all are very kind! :) and it is ok if you gave me some bad info ik it wasn't right just didn't want to respond right aways (sorry about that) I will be posting a thread later on :) once i get the setup ready :) and thanks for the help. It escaped my mind on using the search function! thanks :) but how do i use the charcoal stuff and the balls (or other specific name) and substrate? any pics to show? im confused a bit thats why i am doing my reseach.. :) my uncle used to have chams when he was younger but now he forgot how to setup up pygmy enclosures D: thanks Chamtastic!

If you click the forum tab up at the top, let it load, scroll down to the eclosures section I beleive underneath that is a sub section that says pygmy enclosures.
