my female pygmy looks really skinny today. its either shes layed her eggs or shes sucking in. im almost positive she wont make it (WC i've had for a week) i've given her bug juice and calcuim in a styring while shes drinking(no stress for her) but shes not really improveing :/ she keeps drinking and has opend her eyes a little more here and there but i think shes jsut done in. poor thing. anywho if shes laid id really like to find them and know. how do i go about doing this?

That is really sad, I do hope she makes it. I agree I would leave them in place, if they are there.

i feel terrible for her. but if im luck and she laid than she wont hsave died in vain. im almost positive shes is/was gravid. very fat but skinny, you know? she just looks skinny now mabey laid at night or something cuz she doesnt move much..

Well you'd move the adults before digging. When you dig pretend you are an archaeologist not a miner...

lol XD. yeah im not haveing doubts as she looks fat again. im so confused with her :(

Ya, get a brush and start dusting once the adult is out

i wont be takeing them out. poor thing are stressed half to death. i think my male will be fine but im doubting he female. she THREW UP a criket i stuck in her mouth and she swollard. i sat their and watched her for a while and she actualy threw it up. i didnt even know that was possible for chams to do. it was horrible :(

thanks all for your help but i cant tell anything with her.

Keep giving her the bug juice but don't over crowed her to the point she gets worst. I'd say wait a few days before you move them to search for eggs.

Pygmys are interesting and totally different little creatures from other chameleons. When scared/stressed they can look dead, but then be roaming or hiding 1/2 hour later. Don't pick them up to feel for eggs, especially one that is new to its environment. They will look big one day and skinny the next. I feed mine large pinheads. They have tiny mouths and can't eat most sized crickets. If crickets are left in their environment the cricket can bite them and they will get sores and will bleed. The large pins are much easier for them to handle and aren't dangerous, or at least not as much as a larger cricket.

They take quite awhile to dig a shallow hole to lay eggs. I have never had a girl lay over night. If you have not seen her digging or sitting in an indention then she probably did not lay. I would not remove them from their safe home just to go digging around. If there are eggs they will be fine. Babies will emerge in about 60-90 days. Post a note on the side of the environment so you can keep an eye out. My guess is she didn't lay eggs. If she is not gravid the male will chase her around. I have seen a male wait for the female to lay and then mate as soon as the hole is filled in - randy fellow. LOL

Good luck with your lady and don't give up on her.

I really hope your little girl gets better for you.
If she did lay eggs, I hope you get some cute little pygmies.

Good luck! dont give up on her!
