how to clean a plant

i read on here that a hibiscus plant is ok to put in my chameleon cage.i know it has been sprayed with insect killing soap but i have no idea what it may have been sprayed with at the nursery before i got it.im just wondering if there is a way to clean the plant or is it better just to not mess with it?

I would repot the plant in soil I baked for about 30 minutes. I cleaned the pot with antibacterial soap and water. I washed the plant and roots with water in the shower, making sure to get every leaf. I used a little soap on the plant as well. Repot and prune as needed!! Worked for me. I didnt repot the plant right last time, also didnt have proper drainage from dripper/misters and ended with a snail/mushroom/egg smelling PLANT!!!
