I built a cage for my veiled, wood back, semi wood along the bottom front and sides, screen on front door and both sides, and top. I actually used two good quality window screens we had that were tall, and built a frame around them for each side. I am not very experienced with wood working, but drew out different ideas, then tackled it head on using a jig saw, electric drill. All seams were aquarium sealed. I sanded and polyurethaned all wood, (two coats), glued stick down tiles to back wall and floor. Check out pic on my profile page. This cage ended up being 2x2x4. I believe it cost me under 80.00 to build. Lots of hours involved, 20+, but well worth it. I wish I would've planned for how to attach vines better and a feed cup. Shelves built in would be good for any hanging plants. Lots of fun to do your own!
