Hi, I brought two baby jacksons chams, I've had them 3 weeks tomorrow. I got them at 8 weeks old now they are 11 and I arnt seeing that they are growing at all, I do see them drink and have seen them eat every now and then but they are a little shy about it, I'm used to panthers and velids and I would notice a change in size by now, is this normal with the xantholophus jacksons? Thanks

I got Monty at 7 weeks old, and they grow so much slower! You won't see much change yet. It wasn't until he got to abour 4 - 5 months and started eating bigger feeders that he actually got bigger. When they are that small they are so active, but once they start eating more and bigger feeders they start to gain more weight rather than burn their intake off with their high activity levels. That is what I found with Monty. I weighed him every week and to start with he only gained fractions of a gram each week. They also shed less often than Veileds too. Monty shed every 6 weeks whereas when Amy (female Veiled) was that age she shed every 4 weeks. Here's a link to my blog where I have recorded his weight gain. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/miss-lily/557-j-xantholophus-weight-gain-log.html

I will start checking there weight then that's a good idea, to be honest I haven't handled them since I've had them I don't like doing it with them being so small, don't want to freak them out but it won't hurt just for 5 minutes while I weight them
