How old until cage change should occur

I put my panther in a adult size cage from 4 months old and freeranged all his food. He did just fine.

It is more about size lol I was thinking I would have until Sept based on the age scale, but Claude felt otherwise! He was very cramped in his baby cage, constantly pacing in circles on the top of his cage...so I bought him a big one at about 6 months of age. Now he is a happy guy! :D

When you start to feel he's getting a bit cramped is the perfect time. It's more a size thing than an age thing.

I think it's time for a change with mine too. He's going to be 4 months in a week and a half and he's been exploring the bottom of the cage alot after his last shed 4 days ago and he never once went to he bottom before

Yet another way we "pamper" and over-stress about these guys lol... As long as you monitor feeding, I did 3 months for both of my guys and they are doing just fine... Remember, these guys aren't born in a cage in the wild... As arboreal creatures they love room, space, height, trees, light, and well food... So as long as your giving those things the cham will be okay... I personally think they are more stressed in a small cage than when you put them somewhere where they can hide better... At 3 months Herbie went nuts in his small cage crawling everywhere and he STILL had some growing room.. I think it's a personal choice, if they can find their food then there shouldn't be any issue... JMHO
