Can you guys help me out?? I have some Xanth's and don't have a lot of experience raising them...just wondering if someone can eyeball their approximate age for me. Thanks!

Btw, their names are Jax, Kiwi, and Tiger :)

I would say they somewhere between 4-6 months. I look at horn growth, but this isn't always completely accurate. The level of care they recieved prior to you recieving could have been less than adequate, which can result in an animal that appears much younger than it actually may be. Check out https://www.chameleonforums.com/baby-jacksons-growth-59613/. I started this thread last year and I update it periodically. Maybe this will give you something to gauge it by.

jdog, I've actually seen that thread of yours before...looks like you're doing an excellent job! I hope to get mine looking something close to what you have there...any tips to a newbie like me??

I made this video for forum member Miss Lily who just got her first Jacksons. I get carried away talking about chameleons, and before I realized it, this video turned out to be 30 minutes long, so you'll just have to bear with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKTbUaOQ0aA But I including every detail I could possibly think of that I felt was relevant to the care I gave my babies Jacksons chameleons. I hope this will help you out. PM me anytime if you have any questions. Xanthoman is another experienced Jacksons keeper.

wow, your jackson in that vid is only 10 months!! hard to believe, I mean I've had mine for about 3 months now but I'm not sure how old they were when I got them...here's a pic of the first day we had them. In your experience, does he look like 3 months older since this pic??

Based on your hand as a reference, I would say he looks similar to my 11 week old picture in my thread. As I mentioned, if the previous owner didn't provide an adequate diet and proper UVB, they can appear to be quite younger than they actually may be. I could honestly say he could be anywhere from 4-9 months based on the fact that you have had him for 3 months, but I would be leaning more in the range of 6 months. He has obviously grown since you have gotten him based on the pictures in your first post. You live in Hawaii, so yours would greatly benefit in an outdoor cage. The climate there is very accomodating to Jacksons, so providing a good gutloaded feeder variety should insure that you'll have a good animal, granted they are not infected with parasites.

Well, my guess is about 5 months too...looking forward to them being full grown, didn't think it would take this long :p
