How often do you breed your females?

I had an interested discussion with a friend on whether or not to breed a female (of appropriate size/weight) every time she's receptive; or to let the female go through a second/third clutch on retained sperm.

What are your thoughts/experiences with regard to this issue.

Thanks!

I think one needs to asses weather the cham is intended as a breeder or a pet.
We know that the more breeding and clutches provided seems to shorten the life of female chams. With I pets I will only breed once maybe twice.
With breeders I think I would breed every other cycle JMO

Some species will go and lay more then 1 or 2 clutches from a single good breeding due to retained sperm.
I am about to take my female out of the males cage and put her back into her own. I can manage what she eats and how much she eats, instead of a free for all because of multiple lizards in one cage. Too much food (15 plus daily) will cause her to have a big batch. I doubt theyll go back together until next spring when love is in the air!
Just about all of cherish our girls to the core and would like to see them live long lives in captivity.
So in addition to what Hoj said, you will also have to gauge a year or so down the line. Would you want all them babies? and other q's
You've got about a good half a year of gestation period, some more some less. then at least a few months or more to recoop. BAM a year is gone!
he'll have to plan this next year or two
