How often do chameleons shed?

I know the age of the chameleon makes a big difference but just wanted to find out how often veileds shed their skin? I guess it also depends on how much they are eating and if they are going through a growth spurt. Mine is just over 9mths old and he shed a month and a half ago.

yeah, they will slow down their shedding at that age and then will just start shedding parts of their bodies. You might see a full body shed once in a awhile but more so in sections.

Amy shed every month from when I got her (3months old) until she was 6 months, then it reduced to every 3 months, and like others have said, she now sheds different body parts at different times. She recently shed her head feet, legs belly and tail, but not her upper sides/spine!

I think a few major factors determine how often. Age, diet, and growth. I suppose hours of daylight would influence amount of food eaten, and result in growth. Ideal temps would influence growth development, and food intake. So many smaller factors might contribute as well. Gene's, sex, etc..

With today being the longest day (start of Summer) here in the northern hemishere, many of my chameleons are in shed mode.

Thanks everyone, I really enjoy my time on this forum. I have found it so informative and useful. Not to mention how helpful and caring people are - I guess if you love chameleons then you are a unique kind of person.
