How much uvb?

Just a question that came across my head. Scientifically, with a 6% T5HO linear fixture, how many hours of uvb does a chameleon need to get daily? I'm asking this because sometimes we just let him out and he sits on the couch or a house plant for maybe an hour or 2.

I believe that the lights are supposed to be on 12 hours on and 12 hours off
