Hey guys, is their a chameleon food post anywhere? lol'

I want to know how much food should be given to chameleons throughout their life. What is considered over and underfeeding. Whats everybodies opinion? :D

for the most part, males get to eat what they want, as most chams dont over eat and become overweight.

females that lay eggs have their food intake monitored to reduce egg production.

When young an growing, give them about as much as they can eat within about 5 minutes, three times a day. roughly.
As they approach a year old, the amount will reduce. Adults generally need 1-5 appropriately sized bugs a day, 5-6 days a week.

IMHO it IS possible for both males and females to be overfed.

Determining what your particular chameleon needs will depend on what type of chameleon you have, how old it is, the temperature its kept at, whether or not you are breeding, how active it is, etc. Its good to have a scale and to watch body condition (fat pads, tail shape, etc) to know if your chameleon is getting enough (or too much or too little).

If you happen to have panthers, you can see exactly how I've fed my panthers here (you'll have to go back to historical posts to see how I fed babies, as its been awhile since I've had any): https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/sandrachameleon/food-diary/
