how much do you guys spend??

how much do you guys spend on food for your chams every month?
i only spend about 10.00 bucks a month.
2.50 for a weeks worth of crickets for me:D

$40 to $80 depending on if I travel the extra 15 minutes to the pet store a few towns over.

I spent so far an average of $75 a month. That includes crickets from the pet store and various worm shipments. Plus that includes the cost of gut loads I cant get my work at a restaurant.

Money well spent in my eyes to ensure I can offer a variety of feeders in top health.

$$$

Well I'm a newbie and I've only bought crickets 2Xs so far and I have spent about $40 so I am hoping they last a little and don't die off on me til I can feed them out! Had a hard time finding them locally so I bought first batch of 1,000 at a pet store! Of course they were terrible no way there was 1,000 and most were dead or very very small. Then I lucked out & came across a local farm. Picked up 1,000 there today for $14 buck and he threw in free mealworms! Plus they are great looking crickets, so I am gonna stick with this guy.

This month I've spent $30, on 1000 crickets and 25 hornworms, because I already have roaches and supers breeding. And then I guess I spend maybe $20 on month on gutloading goodies.

But other months I've spent $60 by buying lots of different feeders at once. I use supers, crickets, and roaches as my main feeders, hornworms often but not AS often, and then other goodies as extras. So the cost varies a little every month.

eek:eek:
you guys spend alot! the crickets here are really cheap!
add about 10 bucks a couple months of the year when i buy worms.

Well if that's all you have to spend than I am totally jealous! But good for you!
;)

I am not, because only feeding one insect is not very good. It can work, but it's too risky for me! ;)

For 3 chameleons, i think my girlfriend and I spend maybe 75$ a month total. That includes hornworms for at least 2 to 3 meals a week, a few silkworms from time to time, and plenty of crickets and superworms as they can eat.

When I just had the chameleon, around 40 small crickets so figure 4 a week= 12$ a month. That's increased due to having two beardies now. I'd say about 50 a month? Though this month i had to get silkworms and their food and when it was all said and done, cost me 56$ right there..

do you gut load your crickets with grilled cheese and pickles? :D im sure my chams would appriciate a grade A grilled cheese lol

i spend about 55-65$ a month, about 35$ in crickets (small and large) 5$ meal worms and wax worms, 5$ super worms, about 10$ in silks and horns. and 15$ repashy. i dont feed my chameleons every day so it helps to save a little bit, and i usually go through a 4oz pack of repashy for my crested geckos once every two months.

Hmm never thought about that. I'de try a pickle lol. I fed my crickets a half a fresh jalapeno the other day and the lil sucker was gone in 3 days. I have some hard core crickets.

Usually I just snag greens and fruits from work to gut load...maybe i'll have to try some bread and butter.

for me i only spend 20-30 bucks every month or two on crickets, silkworms, and hornworms not including shipping though..

4 chameleons-
$32.00 a month on crickets
$18-20 a month on produce to feed the feeders
GOD only know$ what I $pend a month on electricity and water.
Forum member hooked me up with some Dubias and I raise Tenibrio mealworms strictly as a back up because they're so easy.

I spend about $10 a month for crickets feeding two younger chameleons. I have had 250+ free superworms that have lasted me since the Daytona Reptile Show. Gotta love it.
