I have a 5 1/2 month old.panther cross I have been feeding him just crickets but I want to start giving him some other choice so I just ordered some small reptiworm how many do I mix in . Thx

you can feed as many of those as you like.

they are high in calcium and great for young growing chams.

i would also recommend dubia roaches.

I feed between 12 to 24 worms depending on their size. I take mine out of the sawdust stuff and put them in a small bin then feed them fruits and veggies. They grow to a robust inch or so in length and 1/4 in wide. The other thing I do when I feed them is to rinse them in very warm water. It makes them very active.

I am going to try this. What size bin, how many do you house in the bin, how long do you keep them in the bin before they reach that size?
This is a great idea thank you

It is a critter keeper not the smallest but the next up. I put 200-300 in there and just drop the food in the bin. It takes about 2 or 3 weeks to get to that size. I have given them pears, pinapples, apples, bananas, squash, just about anything fruit or veggies.

Great Idea on warm water to get them moving!:roll eyes:

Do you keep a colony of the reptiworms going? If so, do you have an instructional care sheet?

Nick

I keep them at room temperature but the bin is sitting by one of my floor registers. I do not have a colony per se as I do not have the appropriate habitat for the adult flies but I order 300 at a time from rainbowmealworms on ebay for just under $21. All I do is put them in a small critter keeper and throw in over ripe fruit or veggies and let them have at it. They are voracious feeders and eat just about anything. Also you have to make sure they are dry when you put them in the feeder cup because if there is any moisture in the cup some how or other they can crawl right out!

I get mine from reptiworms.com. 300 smalls shipped for $16. I feed them sweet potato and mustard greens. They come in a compost dirt and it is safe if the Cham happens to ingest a little. I keep mine in the container they come in at room temp.

Reptiworms

Nick,
The reptiworms are larve of flies that breed in flight, so it takes a pretty good size enclosure to breed them. I did it for a while so if you want the specifics email me.
