I was just wondering how long it takes for infertile eggs that were laid or any of the infertile eggs in a clutch to go bad? Days, weeks, months? Thanks.

Alright gool. thanks. I was jsut wondering because my female blue bar ambilobe laid her first clutch on 9/14 and was expecting to see some of them that weren't fertile start to go bad soon. She laid 44 so some of them are bound to not be good. But nothing yet.

Thats not at all true. Everyone of those eggs could be viable.

I know that there is a possibilty that they could all be fertile. I was just wondering when the ones that might be infertile would most likely go bad. Thanks for the optimism though :) It would be nice to have 44 of them get to the hatching process.

Oh and will the mold that grows on the infertile ones spread to the fertile ones if i don't get them out as soon as they start to mold?

Think of it this way, you have a loaf of bread, one piece of bread molds, you take it out.

Now, if you don't take it out, what happens? The other pieces get mold.

Short answer, yes. :p

Alright, well i don't plan on leaving them in tehre is they do go bad. I just wanted to know for further reference. Thanks for everyone's input.

I dunno about infertile eggs, but the guy I got my dart frogs from breeds chams also. He said that he had an egg that hadn't hatched for two years and he went out of town and had forgotten/given up on the egg. Came back to a hatchling thatd been cooked n the incubator. Don't give up on them yet.
