How long should I keep my veiled in her bin?

I was wondering how long a veiled needs to be kept in a laying bin before she will lay her eggs; hours, days? She's not in any danger of needing to lay I'm just curious for future reference. I've been trying to find some kind of general time frame but can't find anything really.

How are you going to know when she is getting close to egglaying time? IMHO you can't just put her in the bin and leave her there for days on end. What I have always recommended is to put an opaque container about 12" deep x 12" x 8" full of washed playsand in the female's cage so she has somewhere to dig when she's ready. This way you won't have to worry about missing the often subtle signs that she's ready to lay them.

I leave an egg bin in my female cages all the time, after I see her dig I will switch out the bin with a new one and check for eggs.
