How (humans) eating insects became a conspiracy theory

I’m just guessing that the meat production industry is the influence behind steering people away from insect protein. My biggest concern with using insects for food is the heat needed to breed them effectively. I wonder if that’s been factored into efficiency as a protein source.

I want what they are smoking...

Though insects have long been considered inexpensive, healthy and sustainable sources of protein

Ok raise your hands to anyone here that can get crickets or mealworms for less than $40 per pound "wet weight" let alone this powder stuff.

the protein content of lean, cooked beef is about 26%.

Hey counter person, yea can you give me some of that 26% ground chuck, no not the 80% or 90%.

Oh can someone tell me where this 26% dried jerky is, i thought jerky was like 95%+.

I will gladly eat my cricket/mealworm powder when its 120 calories and 20g of protein, for $5 per pound. aka more than what it cost for "expensive" whey protein 4 years ago.

I've read that, the cricket power is better than the carnivore stuff that vets recommend for malnourished reptile owners.

I'm not sure of eating bugs myself. But, if I had to choose between the processed "vegi meat" burger, or a bug burger; I'd give the bug one a chance. 😂

Perhaps if we were raised eating insects we would have acquired a taste for them. I spent enough of my early years in Australia to really enjoy lamb and even venison and goat. I don’t meet many American raised people who can get around the gamey flavor of those meats.

Whaaat? People here love lamb and a good amount like venison. I’ve had goat which I liked, but not as common. Maybe because we have a large Croatian population and also hunters 🤷‍♂️
