How far should be the closest distance for a 3-4 month veiled chameleon to get to from a t5HO 10.0 linear uvb bulb? Sometimes he will sit like directly under it. Is this harmful?

I recommend a 5.0 for a cham that young.

For a 10.0 T5 bulb in a single bulb fixture you want a full 12 inches between the closest branch and the fixture. If you drop back to a 5.0 bulb then it would be 9 inches. Yes, it is harmful for them to be exposed to high UVI levels.
