Yes, I think the previous linke should help. I may be mistaken but I thought they were good for about 12" from the bulb.

It does penetrate down around 12 inches but the amount of UV is diminished. Here is a thread Kevin started about a year ago where he is testing the bulbs at different distances and in different circumstances.
