How do you tell the difference in male and female veileds as babies?

We are going to a local reptile show this weekend and will be choosing a baby veiled for my son. My husband and I have experience with jacksons and veileds, but it has been a while.

I would prefer to get a male, but have had females in the past. how can we tell the difference between the two if the babies are small?

Thank you in advance!

When I got mine he was around 3months? and he had bumps on the back of his hind feet. Tasal spurs. That is a male. Half the pet stores dont know that b/c mine didn't. In some cases it may be fat and be a female. So who knows

It's pretty easy to tell. The males have tarsal spurs on the back of their hind feet. Just ask for a male. If the breeder says he can't guarantee the sex, go somewhere else. It isn't hard to sex them.

Yeh exactly if the breeder cant even tell the difference between male and female i wouldnt suggest buying from them.
