How do you feed...

Dubias?? I'm trying to ween Maynard off of crickets. I've seen him eat some Dubias (when they're crawling around). The problem with them is that they run for the nearest corner and park! :/ I've placed them in a container and he shows no interest. How would you approach this issue? I'd really like to abandon crickets totally...Please and thanks!

I've only ever fed roaches from a small pot which is held on the side of Calvin's house wiv wire around the lip. She took to it straight away. I'm sure if you left some in there, once ur Cham is hungry enpugh, it'll have them!!!

thx for the info! It has been 2 1/2 days and I'm just starting to get worried. He is shedding. Do their appetites decrease while shedding?? I'm considering picking up some crix today... :/

When i started feeding them to my jackson, i had to hand feed them first to get him to eat them. I would hold them with tweezers or large tongs and they would squirm a bit.

I found that offering a bunch at a time in a smaller bowl keeps them moving long enough to get my guys attention also throw a full grown male in with the rest of them, they seem to make the others go bonkers IMO.

Also be prepared to have your guys to reject them altogether. Seems like every other month or do my guys reject the roaches that why I keep the crix on back up. If your guys don't accept the roaches right away give them a small 2-3 day fast it'll change their mind

I placed about 10 of them in a bin and they were still there. I've seen him pick them off of the screen. I just hate how they park and hide. :/

To get my little guy to recognize them as "food", I had to show him that they were running around and alive. They look like little rocks inside of the cup. Hah!

For me, that meant letting them run around on my hand. I know, I know-- a lot of people DO NOT like the idea of a roach climbing around on their hand. But it worked, and he figured out the cup as well after about 4-5 days of it being consistently there and filled with 5-10 roaches.
