how do you all keep water from getting out the cage

I have an 18x18x36 cage. front, back and top is screen and the two sides are glass. I'm going to buy a misting system and i'm wondering if it'll spray water through the screen and get my walls and carpet wet. If so, what are some things I can do to prevent this from happening?

I do not have a mist king but a monsoon (which is crap) but the nozzles are able to be rotated so you can direct them away from your screen. If you have a lot of plants they will break up the spray as well. I don't know about the mist king but my spray does not really reach all the way across the cage but mine is a 24x24.

I have a mistking with 2 nozzles but I have sides and back covers with the nozzles pointing to the front. The spray does do through the mesh if it's pointing straight at it but mine are angled down slightly. The amount you spray shouldn't be a problem really as mine are on for 2 mins throughout the day and doesn't get the carpet wet. I find I get more water land on my drainage table from the water dripping off the plants and hitting the bottom.

The mist is so fine from the mistking you shouldn't have a problem

you can wrap the back with a shower curtain, and that will keep it from going thew - mine point from the front to the back - so no need to worry about the door :)

I have a bigger problem with the dripper dipping on stuff on it's way down, and splashing outside the cage.
The direction varies, so it's hard to manage. Cut some pieces off a cheap shower curtain liner and duct tape to the lower half of the cage, that helps.

just got a monsoon, offer too good to pass. i have one nozzle attached now, i'll be adding the second later. so far so good, no water getting the carpet wet.

what type of spray cycle do you guys set your misters at?

I use aquarium lining on the inside of my cages so that only the top and door are open. It's essentially the same material as shower curtains are made from. Also, it doubles to prevent them from climbing on the aluminum screens that can cause nail damage (I hang a 1" or so 'drop-ceiling' of soft mesh on my top screens for my ADHD Chams that can't resist climbing).

You can also try to zip-tie some fake leafy jungle vines to the sides of the cage so that it sort of acts like a wall to keep the mist inside. Also your cham can climb it

thats a great idea, i bought a bunch of plants with suction cups over the weekend but they have a bad chemical smell out of the bag so its soaking in water and vinegar right now lol
