How do you adminster medication?

Hi. My Graceful Archie has not been eating. I think he finally ate a couple a few days ago as there have finally been a couple little droppings in the cage. I plan on bringing to the vet tomorrow for a fecal. If he needs meds, how do you give them to the cham? Only thing I can think of is to get him mad enough that he opens his mouth and then shoot it in with a dropper. I know the doc will fill me in, but just wondering. Thanks.

Yeah thats what most people do.

Unfortunately for me, my chameleon doesn't even flair up, yet alone gape when he is mad.

If he doesn't open up, what my vet told me to do was wrap him in a sock/cloth then hold the head steady and put the syringe at the lips and just apply a little bit of pressure, he should open his mouth after a while.

I'm on day 6 of 30 for medicine giving. Seems to be working for me.

if you feed silkworms or hornworms you can inject them with the medicine. The vet can give you the syringe to do.

If I can't get one to open up by gaping, or just using the syringe to open the mouth, I have used a soft rubber mixing spatula or similar item to open the mouth. They don't hurt themselves on it when they bite because it is soft.
