How do the eggs look?

Good morning everyone -

It looks to me like our eggs are progressing nicely - but a few questions: when our veiled "Cammie" laid these (39 in totoal) eggs, they were nice and white, perfect, and now, as they've been in the shoe box for 4 months, their color is now somewhat of an off white.... is this normal? Also, when can I candle them to see if there is a baby in them?

We're new to the eggs - so I just want to make sure we're doing it right - what should the temp / humidity be?

Yay eggs!
I think the change in color is normal. as long as they are full, adn there are no dents.
I believe jannb told me that a good temp is 76-77, but i dunno when or even if you can candle.

good luck!
il lbe in the same boat this summer!

Thanks! :) We're keeping them in an incubator at a constant 74 degrees.... and humidity around 80... hoping this works... none are dented or "fuzzy" - just growing bigger and bigger with the slight change in color.....

Congrats for you this summer! :)

They shouldnt be handled, at least i wouldnt, because you may have a mishap and harm the egg.. Besides, even if you candle the egg, you wont see much other than veins. 77 degrees is good to keep them at

Really? Okay - thank you for letting me know - I will up the tempature a dregree or two... and not handle them..... I wouldn't see like a little baby in there? just veins? Interesting! :) Thanks for the response.

Yup.. You may see a dark blob but nothing you can recognize. When the baby is fully formed, it occupies the entire egg and its in an oval shape.. You cant really tell what is what
