Hiya all even when I put my dripper on in the viv I only get a relative humidity level of 40% and im wondering how I can raise it??? I have read that I should mist the viv once in the morning and once at night for about 15 minutes per misting? Is this right??? Should I use warm water from the tap or boil some in a kettle then let it cool down???? Lastly Ive read that you have to keep messing around with the drippers position in order to get the chameleon to drink, is this right? Has anyone have to keep placing the dripper in different places or did they just put it in one place and just left it there???

Please help!!!!!!:confused::eek::eek::eek:

Many thanks in advance!!!

Do you have any live plants? They will raise the humidity. I am lucky, I live in Florida and do not have that problem. My humidity is like 60 before I even mist. Yes, mist atleast twice a day. 15 minutes is a bit too long. just make sure everything is dripping wet so the cham can drink off the leaves and branches.. As far as placing the dripper, I always position my over a branch and he seems to like to lick the branch. Hope this helps!

What type of cage are you using all screen or glass? You should mist 2-3 time a day for about 5-10mins. I use luke warm water from the tap and spray doen the cages. As for the dripper I use the big drippers and I just stick them in one place, leave it alone and the chams drink from the drips. Make sure it is driping on a plant though as this is where they usually drink from. Hope this helps some!

The dripper should be left in one place so the cham gets use to where his water is. Set where it is dripping on a leaf running down onto another leaf or branch and set it up high in the viv. Make sure there are branches to perch on close enough so the cham can get to it. I think 40% RH is good and it should increase with your mistings. I hand mist twice a day with warm water from the tap. The morning mist is after lights on and everyone is awake and I start misting right on the area where the drip is going to get it good and drippy and then work my way around the viv. You should see your cham start to swallow which means he will be drinking soon. If you cham is okay with misting him then start at the tail and work your way up. Then need this for their eyes and skin.

Use live plants in the cage, and if you can maybe run a humidifier in the room near the cham cage. You can also cover one side or two sides of the cage in order to keep moisture in.
