I'm picking up my panther tomorrow (5 month old faly from one of our canadian sponsors) and i've got a few question about crickets.

i've purchased dino fuel as my gut load. i figure i'll still need to keep them hydrated somehow. is it okay to use any fruit (lets say oranges, peaches, grapes, apples, etc) and rotate what i use depending on what i have available??

and if i just want to keep them alive before i gut load them, is it okay to throw in any fruits/veggies? i mean, i plan on buying 100 at a time from a store near by since its only $6 so i need to keep them alive until its time to gut load and feed them off.

one last question. would it be okay to skip a feeding every once in a while? i dont plan on doing it, but every once in a while i get stick covering an evening shift

An orange cut it in four peices ,they will devour it doesn't smell.that's how I hydrate them. It's okay if u skip a day of feeding on the crickets.

along with dino fuel, offer a range of good veggies and fruit, such as:
dandelion leaves, squash (butternut, spaghetti), hibiscus leaves and flowers, grape leaves, orange, papaya, carrot, alfalfa sprouts, mustard greens, romaine, spearmint leaves, arugula (rocket), basil, apple, mulberries , clover, chickweed, blueberries, raspberries, peas, sunflower sprouts, small pieces of steamed (then cooled) yam, leek bulb, Fuki... (switch it up with a different couple of items every other week)

... Fruits and veggies such as these are important both for the nutrients they give (via the insect) to your chameleon, and also because well hydrated prey results in a better hydrated chameleon. Gutload for at least 2 days prior to feeding off.

yes, you can skip a feeding now and then. I feed my adults about 5-6 days a week, but with young growing animals like yours, try not to miss a feeding very often. Its better for feed them in the morning anyways, rather than evening, so your evening shifts hopefully wont be a problem. :)

You should also be providing a variety of feeder prey, not just crickets.

okay thank you. i'm just starting off with a bunch of crickets since they're a little cheaper. i will be switching it up with hornworms and silkworms on ocasion as well. thank you for the quick reply :)

You can rinse off whatever veggies that you're gonna use and then sprinkle the dinofuel on it.
